Heritage Center

The Heritage Center tells the story of Americana through the perspective of Brownsville during the Industrial Era and Coal & Coke Era. It recreates the history of the community and region as a lasting presence of how Brownsville and America came to be.

Frank L. Melega Museum

The Frank L. Melega Museum opened in May of 1999, thanks to dedicated individuals who wanted to see his art come alive for generations to experience. Melega is remembered as being fearless and forward-thinking, always incorporating the latest materials and technologies in his artwork. He was an artist who refused to restrict himself to a singular genre, exploring the styles of realism, abstraction, and non-objective, along with many others. The Frank L. Melega Art Museum collects and preserves the artworks of Frank L. Melega for all to enjoy. A number of contemporary artists display their work throughout the year to promote their talent to the public.
